Logitech G502 x

Logitech’s G502 X gaming mouse may not seem much different from its predecessors. However, upon closer inspection, you’ll notice some significant revisions. While the G502 X retains the improved G502 Hero 25k sensor, it boasts impressive ergonomic enhancements, enhanced customizability, and weight improvements.

Weight Reduction Focus in the G502 X

Notably Logitech has focused on reducing the weight of the G502 X. It weighs in at 89g, a significant reduction compared to the Hero’s 121g. Unfortunately, it lacks the option to customize the weight like its predecessor, which would have been a welcome addition considering it’s priced similarly.

Weight Reduction Changes and Design Simplification

To achieve the lighter weight, several changes have been implemented. Firstly there’s no LED system behind the Logitech G symbol, and there’s no RGB lighting at all, making it a simple choice for both gaming and everyday use. While it’s a bit disappointing that users can’t program customizable lighting effects, such as damage flashes, it’s a logical decision to cater more to the FPS audience. Additionally, although the scroll wheel is now made of plastic instead of metal to reduce weight, it retains the convenient infinite scroll feature.
